As a contractor or consultant you can often get overlooked when it comes to big awards and events, but we’re glad to say there’s a day to celebrate our achievements. It’s National Freelancers Day on Thursday 9th June #NFD2016.

It’s a great way of celebrating the achievements of the 4.6 million independent workers like you across the UK. And there’s an industry awards ceremony to recognise established professionals and the rising stars of the future.

Book your place for the IPSE-QA Awards 2016

We are proud to support IPSE – the Association of Independent Professionals and Self Employed and the IPSE-QA Awards 2016. IPSE has been helping business owners like you since 1999 and is a not-for-profit professional body that is the voice of contractors, consultants and freelancers in the UK. They have over 21,000 members and growing.

Why not join IPSE for their exciting IPSE-QA awards ceremony taking place on Thursday 9th June, from 6pm. You can book your place here!

Join a workshop

It’s not just about celebrating with the winners, there’s a whole host of workshops run by business experts from 3pm; they include sessions with Google Garage, Saatch Masius, former BBC Producer Esther Stanhope and LHS LLP Legal Services. The workshops are a great way of getting hints and tips on how to work smarter and run your business more efficiently. You can find out more details here.

There is a work hub style lounge which will be available across the day so you can catch up on emails and calls in between sessions or network with other businesses.

Celebrate with the winners

This is the third year of the event and it’s growing in popularity and size each year. This year, IPSE has teamed up with a training provider, QA as their headline sponsor to celebrate the millions of people working independently.

The awards celebrate achievements of independent workers like you, under two categories:

  • Five Aspire Award finalists, for entrants aged 23 and under (the rising stars of the future). The Aspire winner will take home £3,000 for their business.
  • Ten Inspire Award finalists for those aged 24 and over (established independent workers). The Inspire winner will receive £5,000, and two runners up will get £2,500 each.

It’s great to see that the awards celebrate the diverse range of independent workers from designers to engineers, journalists to translators. You can read the inspiring stories of the fifteen finalists here. We wish them all the very best of luck.

Meet with like-minded professionals

The event is a great opportunity to meet other contractors, consultants and businesses that are actively looking for new talent. The workshops are a great way to keep in the know with changes likely to affect your business. For more news, follow the IPSE feeds on twitter @IPSEawards and @teamIPSE.

As a valued client of inniAccounts you also receive a 15% on IPSE membership so why not join the largest professional body for independent workers?
